Madison West Designs was incorporated as a new business in 1987. We set out to create a line of custom thermographed invitations that included elements that were considered revolutionary at the time. The result was "Going Places," a catalogue of thematic party invitations introduced at the National Stationery Show in 1989. For the first time in the industry, not only was all invitation copy executed in hand calligraphy, but much of the wording was constructed in verse to convey the theme of the party. In addition, every invitation was embellished with a coordinating applique.
The catalogue, which included several award winning designs, launched the company into the national enterprise that it is today. Since "Going Places" there have been three successor albums and a series of custom Bar/Bat Mitzvah, wedding, and accessory lines that have solidified our reputation as an innovator in the invitation industry.
